Daily-English (Grades 2 to 6)

Daily-English is an In-Center plus online tutoring program that maximizes the effectiveness of after school learning. English programs follow the teacher developed national standard for English Language Arts. Students in the 2nd to 6th grades cover the following areas:

  • Phonics
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Vocabulary
  • Literary Response
  • Spelling and Writing
  • Grammar
  • Personal Creative Journal writing

Online: Open daily with online tutor, 4 x a week, 0.5 hours
In-Center with Tutor: Once a week , 1 hour

Writing for Contests and Portfolio (Grades 3 to 9)

Students in this course will write for contest entries, and in the process learn the writing strategies from research, draft, editing to final published works into a portfolio.  At the end of the course, each student will have entered a number of contests of his or her choice, and have developed his/her writing into a portfolio published on a book.

In-Center with Tutor: Once a week , 1.5 hours
Online: Twice a week , 0.5 hours per session
Class size: 3~6 students per class by age group

Writing for Young Journalists (Grades 4 to 9)

This program prepares students for journalism in middle school, and high-school. In the process, the students learns various types of writing, and masters the full writing process from research to publishing. The journals will be published both online and on paper each month.

In-Center with Tutor: Once a week , 1.5 hours
Online: Twice a week , 0.5 hours per session
Class size: 3~6 students per class by age group

Comprehensive Reading Strategies (Grades 2 to 6)

This program has the following strategies: (1) Finding Main Idea; (2) Recalling Facts and Details; (3) Understanding Sequence; (4) Recognizing Cause and Effect; (5) Comparing and Contrasting; (6) Making Prediction; (7) Finding Word Meaning in Context; (8) Drawing Conclusions and Making Inferences; (9) Distinguishing Between Fact and Opinion; (10) Identifying Author's Purpose; (11) Interpreting Figurative Language; and (12) Summarizing.
